Prof. George William Kofi Intsiful

Prof. George William Kofi Intsiful has been with the Department of Architecture as a Lecturer since 1979.  He was promoted a Senior Lecturer in 1993 and an Associate Professor in 2003.  He holds a Bachelor of Science (Design) and Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture degrees from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, an M. Sc. (Housing) from McGill University, Montreal, Canada and a (D. Arch) Doctorate in Architecture degree from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, U.S.A.

Prof. Intsiful has taught various courses in Universities in Ghana, Liberia, the U. S. A. and Zimbabwe between 1979 and 2014.  He was a Member of the Examination Board to evaluate the Ph. D. thesis of Dr. Viviana d'Auria titled "Developing Urbanism(S) In Development: Five Episodes In The Making Of The Volta River Project In (Post) Colonial Ghana 1945 -1976" at the Katholieke Universiteit, Leuven, Belgium in July 2012.  He has been an external examiner for the EAMAU School in Lome, Togo has served on international juries to review housing competitions.  He has also served as a member of various scientific committees for conferences and was the Convener and Host of the first ever International Conference titled 'African Architecture Today," by the Department of Architecture, KNUST, Kumasi, Ghana in June 2007.

Prof. Intsiful is also an avid golfer who is a past Captain and President of the Royal Golf Club, Kumasi, Ghana as well the immediate Past President of the Ghana Golf Association.
